April 16, 1975 Donna Hay wins poster contest Donna Hay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hay, May- town, won a poster contest with a poster depicting the state flag, bird and motto. The posters were required for “My Community Bad- ge,” for Maytown Girl Scout Troop No. 24, Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council. Mrs. Jack Frank was judge of the artwork done by most of the 31 members of the group under the lead- ership of Mrs. John Winters, assisted by Mrs. Pat Derr. The badge will be completed this month, after which a court of honor will be held, and the awarding of badges will take place. LEGISLATION TO NAME BRIDGE Rep. Kenneth Brandt, R- Lancaster, announced his legislation (HB 290) to’ name the bridge over the Susquehanna River on U. S. Route 30 the Wright’s Ferry Bridge, has been reported from committee to the House floor for a final pass- age vote. Brandt explained that : this span links Columbia. County and York County Lancaster Wrightsville, : on Route 30, and he has received a tremendous re- sponse from the residents of the Columbia area, support- ing his proposal to name the bridge the Wright's Ferry Bridge.
