Scout dinner Jerry Alleman, Mount Joy, is Ticket Chairman, for the Annual Adult Re- cognition Dinner of West- ern District of the Lancas- ter-Lebanon Boy Scouts Council on April 23rd at Indian Springs Golf Club. All District Scout units will be recognized for their fine work in Scouting. Cub Scout leaders will receive recognition from Tom Fleming, District Cub Chairman; Boy Scout lead- ers will be receiving their awards from Walt Gin- grich, District Scout Chair- man. Christ Greider, Dinner Chairman, has promised a few surprises culminating with the presentation of 3 Award of Merits. The Award of Merit is the highest award that can be given to a volunteer Scout- er and there will be 3 very deserving recipients this year. Also, the Western Dis- trict of the Lancaster-Leb- anon Council, Boy Scouts of America is having a CETA employees lay out the site of the pavilion. Spring Camporee on May 6, 7 and 8 at Camp Bashore in Lebanon Coun- ty. The theme of this year’s spring camporee is, ‘‘Lest We Forget.”” The program will deal with ‘‘good old- fashioned’’ Scoutcraft skills and games. The Chicques Chapter of the Order of the Arrow is conducting a gigantic tap-out ceremony on Saturday evening and parents of Scouts are en- couraged to attend the beautiful ceremony. Marietta park fix-up Works has begun on Marietta Memorial Park where a grant of $5,800 from Lancaster County Park Development has made possible a face lifting and the installation of an additional pavilion. Workmen from LETA under the direction of Cal Wise, has placed tanbark by the swings and sliding board, replaced equipment and have staked off a pavilion 20 by 38 feet.
