The stu- lents were chosen by the faculty as+being outstanding students and citizens. Students were eval- ated on the criteria of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship, and service. Taroli, 17, of Dallas, has accepted a scholarship to work with the professional theater group, the PA Shakespeare Festival, which is housed at DeSales University at Center Valley, PA. Alison is presently entering her senior year at Bishop Hoban iHigh School in Wilkes Barre where she has maintained a GPA of 4.33 in the Honors Program. Alison is the daughter of Attorney and Mrs. Garry S. Taroli, of Dallas. awe graduates from Mansfield with honors Lehman native John Dawe recently graduated cum laude from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree studying music, computer science and communication with an em- phasis in publication management. Dawe was president and pub- lisher of The Flashlight newspaper and president of the Mansfield chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He serves on the board of directors of Pennsylvania ACDA. Dawe re- ceived awards from the State System of Higher Education in Harris- burg for outstanding organization of the State Student Media Con- ference. Finch of Harveys Lake, earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a Spanish concentration from usquehanna University on May 12. Kalna wins Citizenship Award Chloe Kalna, a sixth-grade student at Lehman-Jackson Elementary, was recently presented with the Michael S. Gruen Citizenship Award. This award is presented annually in memory of Michael Gruen, a 6th grade teacher at Lehman-Jackson who died in an automobile accident in October, 1976. The recipient is selected by teachers and students on the basis of those qualities which best exemplify a good citizen - academics, de- pendability, honesty, co-operation, respect and leadership.
