The play was a modified two-man scramble. Winning teams: Mem- ber/Guest - First Place - Sandra Richardson and Lois DeGen- naro; Second Place - Peg Thomas and Claudette Banks. Member /Member - First Place - Terry Cook and Lorraine Scott; Second Place - Mary Moran and Lillian McManus. Marie Wild- man had the longest drive and Julie Mantione was closest to the pin. Helen Davis, Alice Niskey and Peg Thomas co- chaired the event. Golf League supports NEPA Classic For the second year in a row, several members of the Newber- ry C.C.Ladies Golf League, Dal- las, served as marshalls at the 2002 Buy, Com Northeast Pennsylvania Classic at the Glenmaura National Golf Club, Moosic, in early June. Members participating were: Dallas: Lil- lian McManus, Dolores Leehan, Peg Thomas,' Diana Dreher, Ruth B. Baltimore; Pittston: Ruth Blackburn, Joan Diana. Hole-in-one at Irem Temple for Baer Wayne Baer scored his first hole-in-one on Saturday, June 22 at the Irem Country Club. He scored his ace on the 17th hole, par-3, 150 yards using a 6-iron. Mike Rovinsky, Ken Pollock and Matt Ivory each contributed two hits for the winners, including a Pol- lock double. Rovinsky, Janerich and Adam Singer did the pitch- ing for the Rockies. Dragon to represent state at national wrestling tourney Lake-Lehman sophomore Matt Dragon is wrestling at the USA National Cadet Duals at the Uni- versity of Northern Colorado this week. According to a press release, the Black Knight will be wrestling at 135-pounds for the Pennsylvania team after winning the Triple Crown Title at the Northeast Cadet Regional Cham- pionships recently. This is the first time Pennsyl- vania has entered a team in the Duals, and the team’s members will work out at the Olympic Training Center with World Team Members and U.S. Nation- al Team coaches throughout the week.
