KATIE CHOLLACK ‘Katie Chollak wins contest « Lake-Lehman seventh-grader Katie Chollak recently won a grand prize of $100 for herself and $200 for her school in a nationwide contest sponsored by Channel One. . Contestants had to pick their favorite character from the Lou- isa May Alcott novel and recnetly released movie Little Women. ‘ Katie selected Beth, the shy sister who loves art, music and taking care of others but who dies. “Beth is loving and caring,” Katie wrote. “She likes kittens and so do I.” Beth is a postiive force in the March family. Notes from school Dallas to host financial aid night Jan. 11 The Dallas Senior High School guidance department will host a program on financial aid for all students planning to continue their education beyond high school and their parents, January 11, at 7 p.m. in the high school library. Lake-Lehman to host financial aid night The Lake-Lehman guidance department will hold a Financial Aid Night at Lake-Lehman High School on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. in the high school library. Parents of seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education are encouraged to attend this program. Filling out financial aid forms, federal and state grants and loans will be explained. Students are urged to come with their parents. Juniors and their parents are also welcome. Earn honors with distinction Anthony Martinelli, Dallas Middle School Principal, recently an- nounced that 12 students in the middle school had earned Honors with Distinction for the first marking period. To earn this honor a student has to have an average of 3.8 or better on a 4.0 scale. Sixth grade honors went to Stacey Amann, Bradley Balutis, and Brian Phillips. Seventh grade honors went to Norah Krakosky, Jamie Miller, Jennifer Noon, Matthew Schweitzer and Heather Vodzak.
