Earns special scholarship Rebecca Matusek, of Shaver- town, a 1993 graduate of the Of- fice Management Technology Program at Luzerne County Community College, was recently awarded a $500 scholarship by the LCCC Association of Higher Education. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achieve- ment as well as service to the school and community. Matusek was a dean's list stu- dent at LCCC and is active in Sunday School activities at her church. She also was a member of the Wilkes University Wind Ensemble while in high school. In Shavertown, where Kimberly-Clark has a consumer sales office, a scholarship was awarded to Karen Maria Wisnieski, a senior at Dallas High School and the daughter of Irene and Daniel Wisnieski of Shaver- town. The Bright Futures college scholarship program was estab- lished earlier this year for sons and daughters of employees of Kimberly-Clark and its U.S. sub- sidiaries. In this inaugural year of the program, the Kimberly- Clark Foundation awarded 100 $5,000 grants for undergraduate study at accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study, for a maximum of $20,000. The Bright Futures scholarship program is sponsored by the Kimberly-Clark Foundation, a charitable organization supported 100 percent by Kimberly-Clark Murphy wins service award College Misericordia recently honored its student leaders at the 10th Annual Student Leadership Awards Dinner.
