Known by students and teachers alike for her sensitiv- ity, ready smile and ability to get along with others, Christy, a 1992 Lake-Lehman gradu- ate, was very active in the school’s chapter of Students Against Drunk Drivers (SADD) and a member of the Sweet Valley Community Bible Church. The school's Peer Helpers, who collected the money for the scholarship, selected its recipi- ent based on the personal qualities which they saw and respected in Christy Elston: devout spirituality, sobriety, personability, cheerfulness, sensitivity and the ability to get along with others.
