Photo by: DIANA MICERI Delco Welcomes Three Additions To Campus Faculty and Staff By Cristine Phillips The beginning of a new semester has brought a lot of new faces to our campus. Aside from the herds of new freshmen, Delco has acquired some new additions to its faculty and staff. PennState Delco would like to welcome to the campus; Dr. Angela Gillem, Ms. Alita Kelley and, Dr. Samuel Spencer. Dr. Angela Gillem is our newest lecturer in psychology. After acquiring her B.S. degree in psychology at Michigan State University, she moved on to Boston University where she got her M.S. and PhD. in clinical psychology. Dr. Gillem has spent many years filling her record with a diversity of achievements. She did student counseling at Harvard Law School, Swarthmore College and the University of Pennslyvania. She also served as assistant Dean and Director of Multicultural Affairs at Haverford College just before coming to PennState. Dr. Gillem says her goal for her new position is "to build on my teaching skills...get to know my students and, to get moving On my resear When questioned ¢ on her reaction to the Delco campus, Dr. Gillem responded, "Great facilities. I especially like the weight room.” She also likes her students a lot but says, "I wish they'd speak out more in class. They have a lot more to contribute!" Ms. Kelley obtained her B.A., M.S. and,, PhD. at the University of Arizona and has also managed a husband and two daughters along the way. To describe her goal for her new position she says, "I should like to broaden my students’ horizons...and I hope to make my younger students fall in love with other cultures and wish to travel."
