Arts League sponsors exhibit—asks help of parents by Donna Germer The following information was sent to Mr. Drenner by Mrs. Linda Ross: A meeting of the Regional Scholastic Art Awards Committee was held October 27. The topic of discussion was the possibility that Garvin's Department Store ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’’ senior The Senior Class of Donegal High School will present ‘Arsenic and Oid Lace,”’ a three-act comedy, on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, at 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Written by Joseph Kesselring, the play takes place in Brooklyn during the early part of World War II. The story is of a family might not be able to house this year’s art exhibit. The Fine Arts League of Lancas- ter has taken over the sponsorship of the show. Many people enjoy seeing this exhibit so we are asking for their help. In order to host the art show, we need interested persons to sort entries and to sit with them during the exhibition times. The League also needs financial help. Because of this, the League is encour- aging parents of outstand- ing art students to lend financial support and/or a little bit of their time to help with the exhibit. Each art teacher in Lancaster County is being class play at D.H.S. this month by Melody Mumma runs. All the scenes take place in-the Brewster home, which houses two old ladies, Abby Brewster (Jane Youtz) and Martha Brewster (Jean Bixler), and their three nephews. The old ladies feel it is their duty to relieve lonely old men of their misery. Teddy Brewster (Mike Kohler), the youngest nephew, who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, and Jona- loff, are already following in the family footsteps. e third nephew, Morti- mer Brewster (Ted Hershey) _is a play critic who has only recently come to live with the family. Mortimer is reluctant to marry his girlfriend, Elaine Harper (Karen Thompson), daugh- ter of The Reverend Dr. Harper (Kevin Milligan), for fear that he possesses the asked to make up a list of at least 10 parent’s names who would be available to help with the show. So many of the parents have groups formed with interest in athletic and musical activities of their children. We would strong- ly like to see an art group of the same kind formed.
