Presently, the shredder is stopped at 4 p.m. The proposal to extend SUSQUEHANNA BULLETIN — Page 15 the shredder’s operation hours was opposed by about 30 residents at the meeting on grounds that the shred- der makes extensive noise. According to zoning board chairman Jack Frey, the hearing last night was simply to gather information Aluminum Co. asks to run shredder at night on the issue and a decision can be expected in several weeks. The company is request- ing a variance or relaxing of a zoning noise regulation, Frey said. The company said it had extra work and needed to use the shredder more often. Many will remember the Appleys, Leda and Le Roy as florists in the Columbia, Marietta area for 32 years. But mostly happy because We make it that way. We call it the Witness Tree, With a fence around it for everyone to see. ” By the Spring there is a wall, with Daffodils along its side that are nice To say you saw. We clean the Spring That makes our hearts ring. Sometimes we have a wedding by the Spring. With a groom and a bride Which gives us great pride Because the Spring is clean. Come on Sunday to the Church and pray, And then you'll feel good the rest of the day. After Church we have Sunday School, That ends with a bell. And then we go home To lunch’s good smells. Statistics released by Chief James Millar show that only145 offenses were committed in the first half of 1975. There were 174 offenses in the first half of ‘74. In the first half of this year, there were 91 criminal arrests, 68 juvenile arrests, 117 traffic arrests, 21 vehicle accidents, and 91 ordinance arrests. last year there were 157 juvenile and criminal vehicle accidents, and 91 arrests, 60 ordinance arrests | and 34 traffic accidents. - According to Chief Millar, ordinance arrests rose be- cause of increased police action and updating of old parking tickets.
