Donegal Church
by Amy Biesecker
Our Church is just gray,
But it’s very very gay.

~ LeRoy Appley
The Marietta Zoning
Hearing Board met last
week to consider a request
from U.S. Aluminum Co. to
operate its scrap metal
shredder until midnight.
Presently, the shredder is
stopped at 4 p.m.
The proposal to extend

SUSQUEHANNA BULLETIN — Page 15
the shredder’s operation
hours was opposed by about
30 residents at the meeting
on grounds that the shred-
der makes extensive noise.
According to zoning board
chairman Jack Frey, the
hearing last night was
simply to gather information
Aluminum Co. asks to run shredder at night
on the issue and a decision
can be expected in several
weeks.
The company is request-
ing a variance or relaxing of
a zoning noise regulation,
Frey said. The company said
it had extra work and
needed to use the shredder
more often.

But mostly happy because
We make it that way.
Above the door there is a crack
And at the side of the slanting roof,
The birdies build their nests
In that because it’s waterproof.
Outside the door
There is a strong and steady tree
With a root going down so deep
It will always grip the floor.

We call it the Witness Tree,
With a fence around it for everyone to see.

By the Spring there is a wall, with
Daffodils along its side that are nice
To say you saw.
We clean the Spring
That makes our hearts ring.
Sometimes we have a wedding by the Spring.
With a groom and a bride
Which gives us great pride
Because the Spring is clean.
Come on Sunday to the Church and pray,
And then you'll feel good the rest of the day.
After Church we have Sunday School,
That ends with a bell.
And then we go home
To lunch’s good smells.
