Schirmer and family Rev. Schirmer comes to area Bishop James Ault has announced the appointment of Rev. Arthur Schirmer to be pastor ‘of the Marietta- Bainbridge charge to be effective as of the annual Conference of United Meth- odist Churches from June 9th thru 12th. Pastor Schirmer has been serving a 3 Church pastor- age at Lehighton, Weiss- port, Pa., for the past five years. Originally from Milton, Delaware, Rev. Schirmer attended United Wesleyan College, Allentown and Messiah College, Grant- ‘ham, Pa He is married to ‘the former Jewel Behney of HR RB EB REE, (717) 299.7226 | Pauline Hess dies Mrs. Pauline E. Hess, S2, of 101 New Haven St., Mount Joy, died Saturday in St. Joseph’s Hospital after an illness of eight months. She was the daughter of Charles H. and Anna Frey Hess, Lancaster. She had been a resident of Mount Joy for 18 years. She was employed at RCA in Lancaster and also worked as a cook in Mount Joy. Surviving are her parents, two sons, James R. and Jay W. Hess, two grandchidren, and three brothers, James H. Frey, Robert P. Frey, and H. Wayne Frey. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Betty G. Ament, Mrs. Miriam J. Walton, Mrs. R. Arlene Fawber, and Mrs. Jean M. Krumrine. John Brandt Dies in Ohio John L. Brandt, formerly of Mount Joy, died in Mount Mary Rutan Hospital, Belle- fontaine, Ohio, on Sunday. Brandt who was 6S, had resided at 209 N. Mad River St., Bellefontaine, Ohio, for the past 14 years. . He was a member of the Mount Joy First Presbyter- ian Church. He was a retired pilot from the air force and private charter airlines. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. Brandt, Mount Joy, where he was born and reared. He was the husband of the late Alice Copeland Lebanon. Her parents are the Rev. and Mrs. Eldian Behney, Co-pastors of Leb- anon Gospel Center. Jewel attended United Wesleyan College and Messiah Col- lege where she received her degree in Music Education. The Schirmers have three ‘children; Amy, age 4; Julie, age 3; and Micah, age 4 months. They are proudu- cers of a stereo record album entitled ‘‘Lord Bring Back the Springtime.”’ They have traveled through- out the Eastern United States as Song Evangelists at Camp meetings and churches. He is survived by a brother, Charles Brandt, Stockton, Calif.; and two sisters, Estelle, wife of G. Seiler Phillips, Mount Joy, and Dr. Julia B. Edwards, Orlando, Florida. Harry, Elizabethtown; and a sister, Annie Lapp, Gap. Samuel Naylor ® Dies Samuel E. Naylor of 5952 Longview Ave., Harrisburg, died at 3:10 a.m. Monday in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, following an illness of seven weeks. He was 88. A member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America, Local 59, Lancaster, he was self employed as a carpen- ter. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Marietta. Born in Marietta, he was a son of the late Howard and Ida Shields Naylor. He had been living in the Harris- burg area for the past 24 years. He was the husband of the late Marian Billet Naylor. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Miller, Harrisburg, with whom he resided, and a son, Howard B. Naylor, Dayton, Ohio. The Lancaster County Office of Aging is now offering a program that can be an answer to your ‘problem. Help in housecleaning is available. = Washing win- dows, cleaning woodwork, cleaning up the yard, painting, small carpentry jobs, even lawn mowing are among the services offered. To be eligible for service from the Office of Aging, you must be 60 years old or more and not living with an able bodied relative who could do the work. There is no charge for this service, but donations will be re- ceived from those who would like to pay for this service. These funds will be used to defray the cost of the service. Senior citizen supervisors will collect the donations and give a re- ceipt. Requests for service can be made at the Lancaster County Office of Aging, CAP Outreach centers, or the nutrition sites. Or you can phone 229-2547 (Office of Aging) collect and ask for Mrs. Dorothy Reinhart. The work will be done by a team of 2 youth supervised by a knowledgeable senior citizen. The Office of Aging is now taking applications for the 10 positions of supervisors, both men and women. People applying must be over 60, have a car, able and willing to work with youth and knowledgeable about home chores, inclu- ding some carpentry and painting. More information regarding this program can be obtained by contacting the Lancaster County Office of Aging.
