Lions President Edgar Appley and member Ronald Perry attended the District 14 Rally held in Mount Joy recently. 75 Lions from 20 different clubs were present at the rally whose theme was “Touch a Life with Hope.”’ District Governor Thomas Parry of Lebanon was presented a banner from Lion David Kettle of Perth, Australia, who is the Youth Exchange Director for the Lions’ Clubs in the western region of that country. Three Austrialian youths, including Kettle’s son, will be placed with Lancaster County families for three months beginning in De- cember. The main speaker at the meeting was Lion Gerald De Turk of Reading. De Turk pointed out that Lions International is the world’s largest service or- ganization with 1,300,000 members in 30,000 clubs in 150 free world countries. Farm Women’s Society plans Christmas Party Farm Women’s Society #8 met at the home of Phyllis Endslow, Marietta R.D.1, at 2 pm November 185. Twenty members attend- ed. Secretary Anna Mae Derr read the minutes of the last meeting, and Hettie Ginder gave the treasurer’s report.
