Zeus responsible? §§§ Maytown Co. reports six emergency calls The Maytown-East Don- egal Fire Company re- sponded to six emergency . calls dyring the month of July, it was reported at the last company meeting. The company also handled nine work details and one public service call, according to Fire Chief Charles Shaffner. The emergency calls con- sisted of: one vehicle accident invilving a motor- cycle; one assist to Rheems Fire Co. at a structure fire; one reported brush fire; and three calls for trees or electrical lines down. Fire equipment was in service 43 hours during the month with a total of 129 fire people assisting on the calls. New members accepted by the company are Curtis Sharpe, George Allen Funk, Marie Splain, Daniel Leonard Jr. all of Maytown; and Edward Billet Jr. and Chris Beaston Jr. of Mariet- ta. Approval was given for reaching an agreement with PennDOT for snow and ice removal on 7.13 miles of streets in the borough. Council voted to advertise a proposed ordinance to provide ramping at various curbs. The Health and Safety Committee was authorized to draw up an ordinance regulating the behavior of dogs and cats, making owners responsible. The borough manager was given authority to draw up an ordinance rezoning the lot on which the Borough Park House is located along the road to Manheim, changing it from open area to residential.
