Thursday the Brownies will travel to the Lancaster County Park and participate in the activities of the physical fitness trail as part of their ‘‘Fitness Fun” topic. Joy and Friday they will receive ‘Pet Pointers’’ when they visit Sipling’s Pet Shop in Mount Joy to learn about animal care. The Junior Scouts will spend the week earning community safety and health aid badges. They will also visit the police station in Mount Joy, talk on community safety, meet the Mount Joy ambu- lance, deal with a mock accident, learn treatments and behaviors for an emergency, listen to the forst fire crew, and conduct a safety program. healthy The Cadette Scouts will spend the week earning everything from first aid to animal badges. They also will visit Dr. Burrichter, a veterinarian in Columbia, travel to the Humane Shelter in Lan- caster and complete a service project at the 10,000 meter “Twilight Trot’ planned in Elizabethtown Aug. 24 On Sunday, August 24, at 6:30 pm the Twilight Trot—a 10,000 meter (ap- proximately 6.2 miles) run— will be held in Elizabeth- town. All runners and joggers are invited to participate. Awards will be given to first, second and third place finishers of each men’s and women’s category: 15 and under, high school students, 18-22, 23-29, 30-39, 40-49, S0 and over. Post entries will be received from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm on the day of Pack 136 camps out at Camp Wilderness Cub Pack #136 of Mount Joy held an overnight campout at Camp Wilder- ness recently. There was a special campfire program held Sat- urday night with singing lead by Dana Mark. Awards were presented by Cub- master Robert W. Mark. Mark Chamberlain received two silver arrows and the S0th year patch, and Michael Lehman was made a Bobcat. Christine Lehman was inducted as the new assistant den leader. The group enjoyed church services Sunday morning conducted by Robert Mark, Dana Mark and John Auker. The service was followed by a hot dog roast. Leaders for the campout were Robert W. Mark, John Auker, Kevin Mark, Victor Wolf, Edna Wolf, Dana Mark, Ann Mark, Christina Lehman, Ann Mark and Bryan Mark. Scouts attending included Billy Eisenhower, Kevin Eby, John Haller, James Gamble, Mark Chamber- lain, Thomas Groff and Michael Lehman. Others attending were Matthew Gamble, Tina Mark, Roberta Mark, An- thony Mark, Wilbur Groff, Kathrine Gamble, Linda Chamberlain, John Lehman and William Eby.
