Appley inducted into Lion’s pres. Edgar Appley was in- stalled as president of the Marietta Lion’s Club at the regular dinner meeting held at the Colonial Inn last week. District #14D Govern- or Park Plasterer installed the new officers. Other officers installed were: Ron- ald Perry, 1st vice-pres- ident; Joe Gilmartin, 2nd vice president; James Lib- hart, secretary; Richard McKain, treasurer; and Edward Charles, Patrick Kenney Jr., and Ivan Hess, directors. Guests of honor at the meeting were Lions Hotem- stein and Eby of the Camp Hill Lion’s club. A report of the Lion's State Convention was given by Plasterer who said that 21 new clubs have been chartered in PA. Bob Spangler reported that the club will present a $50 scholarship to a deserv- ing graduate of Donegal High School at commence- ment excercises next week. It was noted that the United Telephone Company gave the club a $35 contribution. This money, along with an additional $100 will go to the Lancaster County Blind Association. The local group will visit the center for the June 12 meeting. The first outdoor meeting of the season will be held at the: home of Lion Robert Cresswell on June 26.
