The Indians went into the last inning with things all tied up, and Sherry Derr connected for a two-run double to win the game for Donegal. Sherry was four for five with 7 RBIs in the game. Betsy Germer was four for six and Brenda Hershey was three for five. Girls with two hits were: Marty Miller, Sheree Gal- lagher, Mary Shue and Tammy Mohr. ‘“‘Everyone hit well,”’ said Coach Cliff Shank. ‘‘We just had a real good hitting game.” Donegal lost to Cedar Crest, S to 14, on Thursday. ‘“The score was only S to 8 going into the last inning,”’ said Shank, ‘‘but they were really hitting well and scored some runs in the last inning.” Marty Miller went two for four for Donegal, as did Sheree Gallagher. The only other girls with hits were Brenda Hershey who went one for two and Sherry Derr who was one for three. “We committed a few errors and we got out-hit,”’ Shank said. Monday’s game against Elizabethtown was rained out and postponed until Tuesday. The game is at home. Wednesday the girls travel to Lebanon and Friday they play Manheim Central at home. They play Norlebco at home next Monday. Shank remarked that because of the number of games scheduled and the games delayed due to rain, the team often has to go into a game without any prac- tice. Shank told the Times that the league is going to be changed in two years and the number of scheduled games should be lowered.
