Mount Joy, Penna. 17552 93 East Main Street Barbara Kosco, a news broadcaster with WSBA radio, spoke to the Mount Joy BPW at their February meeting on the topic of ‘““Women in Broadcasting.” Barbara talked about the mechanics of her business, and spoke at length on ‘‘Operation Snowflake,” which WSBA provided during the big snowstorm. They relayed 2,400 mes- sages, took S500 phone calls, and contributed 87 man-hours on January 17th. The news staff at WSBA consists of 8 people; the entire staff totals 16. The program was arrang- ed by the BPW’s founda- tion committee, chaired by Mrs. Ronald Hart. Mrs. George Broske led a group sing, and Mrs. Albert Wahlen offered the invoca- tion. Mrs. Earl Koser, BPW president, conducted the business session. The re- vised by-laws were read by Mrs. Joe Mumma. The following women were elected to be dele- gates or alternates to the Spring District Meeting to be held on April 8th at the Continental Inn: Mrs. Earl Koser, Mrs. Barry Enos, Mrs. Banks Wagner, dele- gates; Mrs. Ken Shearer, Mrs. William Lambert, and Mrs. Marlin Sinegar, alter- nates. Delegates to the state convention (June 16th to 18th) are Mrs. Koser, Mrs. Enos, and Mrs. Wagner. Alternates are Mrs. Lam- bert, Mrs. Hart, Mrs. Arthur Sprecher. Delegate to the national convention will be Mrs. Shearer; Mrs. Koser will also attend as president. Mrs. Koser appointed a scholarship committee. Members are Mrs. John Fry, Mrs. George Broske, Mrs. Arthur Sprecher, Mrs. Jay Meckley, and Mrs. Lester Koder. Candy and Tammy Flowers place in competition Candy Fowers, age 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Flowers of 526 W. Walnut St., Marietta, parti- cipated in 2 roller skating championships last weekend. She placed 3rd in the Merryland Invitational in Glasgow, Del., out of 19 primary girls. She and her dance partner, Randy Cramer, placed 7th in the juvenile division. Candy’s sister Tammy, age 6, placed 8th in the primary division at the same event. She also captured a bronze medal in primary girls’ figures at the Star Skating Center in Harrisburg. Both Tammy and Cand, are members of the Park City Skating Club, and are students of Mrs. Florance Cramer, an SRSTA pro- fessional. Births Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Musser (Carol Fisher), 875 W. He was recently Jack Hanel, general manager of the Host Town in Lancaster, announced the appointment of Stephen Witmer as executive chef. Witmer started in 1969 as a chef and manager in charge at Marco’s in Marietta.
