SUSQUEHANNA TIMES - Page 13 Summer schedule is busy at St. Mark’s Although it is vacation time, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Mount Joy is carrying on a full schedule of activities dur- ing the month of August. There will be guest speakers in the Adult Dept. of the Sunday Church School. During the Sunday Worship services the Pas- tor W. Richard Kohler, willl preach a series of message from the Book of Proverbs. These include ‘‘Better Than a Full Stom- ach,”’ ‘‘Better Than a Brother,” and °‘‘Better Than Laughter.” Dr. Ezra Ranck will be in the pulpit on August 22nd. Each ser- vice features special music and a great deal of con- gregational participation. The Vacation Bible School for children from Nursery-age through Grade Six will be held from August 9th to 13th. (Mon. and Fri. from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.). Bible stories, activities, and music high- light the school which is under the direction of Sharon Givler and a com- petent staff of teachers and helpers. The congregational picnic is set for Sunday, August 15th, immediately after the Morning Worship Service - at Sico Park. Monthly meetings during August include the Youth Council (August 2), Trustee Board (August 16th) and Council on Ministries (August 18th). Sewing Day is August 17th from 10 to 3 p.m. A Post-High Bible Study Group meets every Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Mount Gretna Bible Conference is currently being held each evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. (August 1st to 15th). Obituaries PAUL ‘DICK’ BUCHANAN ““Dick’’ Bucha- nan, 52, of 124 West Walnut Street, Marietta, died unexpectedly at 1 a.m., Tuesday at Waltham Hospital, Waltham, Mass, where he had been visiting a daughter. He had been under the care of a physi- cian. Buchanan was supervisor of international logistics at the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a member of the United Church «f Christ, Marietta, and the Marietta Comm. Chorus. Born in and a lifelong resident of Marietta, he was a son of the late Harry L. and Ella C. Boughter Paul R.
