Letters have been sent to local residents and users of the library asking for their support, and the response has been en- couraging. Local service clubs and industries will be ; contacted soon, to ask for * their help. and Sonnie- Mindful of current in- flation and unemployment, the Library Board has been holding their costs at pre- vious levels although pro- viding some new services. Anyone wishing to help in the financial support of the various services of the Library, should send his or her contribution to the Mount Joy Library Center, 22 East Main Street, Mount Joy, 17352, care of Mr. William Eby, Treasurer. The library board, which met last Monday evening, March 15, would like to make the public aware of various new services pro- vided by the Lancaster County Library and avail- able through the Mount Joy Library. Through the Mail-A-Book service, homebound people can borrow books of their choosing through the mail, without any charge for postage. Catalogues of books to choose from are available by calling the Mount Joy Library, 653-1510. The library is collecting oral history by interviewing older people and tape- recording their recollec- tions. Much historically valuable information is be- ing assembled, describing by-gone industries, schools, mills, customs, etc. Anyone wishing to contribute to this program or anyone who knows of an older person with knowledge of the old days, is encouraged to call the library. Nothing from the interviews is published or kept without the respon- dent’s permission. In May, the Mount Joy Library will have free copies of a useful booklet entitled, Where To Call.
