Those who missed it last Sunday evening will have this second opportunity to experience the moving and thought-provoking drama of the unforgettable exper- ience of World War II when a whole town was wiped out in reprisal as an act of war for the death of one. As a part of the evening's ex- perience, the audience will engage in a dialogue with the cast on man’s inhuman- ity to man. This program is open to the public and everyone is warmly urged to share in this memorable experience. ST. SUSQUEHANNA TIMES - Page 17 CHIQUES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH The heritage Sunday Ser- vice on February 22, 1976, will begin the Chiques United Methodist Church bicentennial celebrations. A play, ‘‘The Voice of America’ will be presented at 10:30 a.m., in the church sanctuary. A congregational ‘old-fashioned turkey din- ner’ complete with home- made breads and pies will follow the play. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Henry and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shaeffer are co-chairpersons for the dinner. The public is cor- dially invited. There will be solo select- ions by Eleanor Sloan, Mary Myers, Woodrow Kern, Harold Myers, and Charles Heaps. Tableaux participants will be George Lewis, Bruce Gundlach, Lindsay Herr, Mark Brumach, John Bar- giss, Kirby Gantz, The J. Warren Smith family, Lor- raine Eshleman, Sandy Nis- sley, Janet Rose, Leroy Gantz, John Herr, Stacey Stark, Traci Smith, and Brett Floyd. Chiques goal for 1976 is te revive that ‘“‘cld-time’’ reli- gion, and we invite any friends and visitors to share thatexperience with us. The play is the first of three special programs which are being planned. Mr. Bernard Linn, Sr., is chairman of the bicentennial committee. ST. MARK’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH by W. Richard Kehler St. Mark's United Metho- dist Church, Mount Joy, will have a special observance of the birthday of George Washington at both its merning and evening ser- vices on Sunday, February 22nd. At 10:15 worhip the music and the liturgy will have a patriotic theme. The pastor, W. Richard Kohler, will continue a sermon series on the Life of Christ with a message entitled ‘‘Jesus Was A Patriot.” As a part of the morning program there will be the presentation of a God and Country Award to Boy Scout, Joe Coover, a mem- ber of the congregation. Area representatives of scouting will be present to share in the awarding of this high honor. In the evening at 7 p.m., members of the church and friends of the community are invited tc attend a “George Washington Ser- vice.”’ Special consideration will be given to the life of the ‘‘Father of Our Coun- try’’ as a statesman and a man of faith. A slide pre- se ntaticn will be included on the program. Pictures will be shown of Mount Vernon and Williamsburg. Appro- priate music and devotional material will be a part of the service—to be held in the sanctuary of the church. The public is invited. REV. & MRS. ANTHONY SORBO by Hazel Baker Rev. & Mrs. Anthony Sorbo, Assembly of God Missionaries to Indonesia will be guest speakers Thursday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m., in the Marietta Assembly of God Church Waterford Avenue. An appcinted missionary since 1960, the Rev. Sorbe has been the Director of Publications for the Assem- blies of God in Indonesia since 1965S. This work was inaugurated and established under Mr. Sorbe’s direction. Mrs. Seorbe has been National Directer of Sunday Scheels during this same period. In this capacity she was responsible for the publicaton of Church School Literature and leadership of over 300 Sunday Schools threughout Indenesia. During the last four-year term the Assembly of God Publishing House has en- joyed a rapid growth. Under Mr. Serbe’s leadership twe buildings were erected with- in the space of three years te house a new print shop and a distribution center. Sever- al large pieces of printing equipment were also added. A staff of 30 Indenesians are now preducing Sunday school and other church- related materials. Christian books for general reading and study, as well as materials for evangelism outreach and correspend- ence courses. Rev. & Mrs. Serbe will be showing an audic-visual presentation of their work as well as telling of the challenge of Christian Mis- sicns in Indonesia today. The Rev. E. Lercy Hoover, pastor of the Marietta church, extends an invita- tien to the public to attend. Dot Yarnell retires by Elva Linard Dot Yarnell was honored at a retirement dinner at Mr. Lacy’s Lounge February 12th by her friends. Dot, who was employed at Wyeth for many years retired in October 1975. Twenty-three women at- tended the party and a good time was had by all.
