Stredny honored at University of Scranton Coral Stredny, of Dallas, was among 674 students recog- nized by The University of Scranton during its undergrad- uate Class Night ceremony. Stredny, who graduated from The University’s undergraduate Honors Program, was the co- recipient of the Excellence in Biochemistry Award. She also was a co-recipient of a Frank O’Hara Award for Academic Excellence for having one of the highest grade point averag- es in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University. Misericordia University re- cently presented alumna Ka- ren Boback, Ph.D., of Harveys Lake with the Mother Mary Catharine McGann Alumni Achievement Award at the an- nual Alumni Awards dinner held during Alumni Weekend. The veteran educator is now in her second term as state representative of the 117th Legislative District of Penn- sylvania, serving parts of Lu- zerne, Wyoming and Colum- bia counties. Rep. Boback served as a teacher and guidance counsel- or i Tunkhannock Area School District for 33 years and was an adjunct professor at Wilkes and Misericordia Universities.
