Originally from Dallas, Hammer- sley draws inspiration for her jewelry - a line of stained-glass pendants that are both eye-catching and personal - from her love of family, particularly her children. You can learn to survive outdoors Misericordia University will host a two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training course on campus for students, employees and the community from8a.m.to5p.m.on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30. The 16-hour course will be divided into two eight-hour ses- sions. The course is perfect for the out- door enthusiast, outdoor leader, camp staff or anyone interested in specialty medicine. It will focus on skills such as response and assess- ment for musculoskeletal injuries, environmental emergencies, soft tissue injuries, medical emergen- cies and survival skills. SOAR, Misericordia’s Student Outdoor Adventure and Recre- ation program, is sponsoring the event. It will be instructed by the Stone Hearth Open Learning Op- portunities, better known as SO- LO, which has been instructing outdoor skills courses since 1975. Participants will receive SOLO WEA certification that is good for two years and is accepted by the American Camp Association.
