Sordoni honored for commitment to kids Children’s Service Center has recognized Peg Sordoni of Harveys Lake with the Outstanding Commitment to Children Award for her dedica- tion to the well-being of the young people of the region. The award was presented Nov. 16 at the organization’s 66th annual luncheon at the Genetti Hotel & Convention Center, Wilkes-Barre. Sordoni has served as a vol- unteer at the Children’s Service Center for the past 27 years as a board member, including two years as chairperson. She now serves as a board member for the Sordoni Foundation and for the United Way of Wyoming Valley. According to Joe DeVizia, president /chief executive offi- cer of the Children’s Service Center, Sordoni’s commitment to children has made a strong and significant difference in their lives. The Children’s Service Center is a nonprofit United Way Agency, which has assist- ed children and adolescents since 1938.
