Suzanne Lehman to W. Brian Womach of Seaford, Del. Miss Lehman is also the daugh- ter of the late Dr. Clinton J. Lehman. Mr. Womach is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bredbenner and the late Mr. Richard Womach. Miss Lehman is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Kingston and King’s College, Wilkes-Barre. She is a group sales manager for the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Womach is a graduate of Laurel High School, Delaware and The Baltimore International Culinary College, Baltimore, Maryland. He is employed by Lodgian Inc. as the general manager of the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Marietta, Georgia. Bulfords celebrate 83rd reunion The 83rd annual Bulford reunion, descendants of John and Rachel Bulford, early pioneers of the Back Mountain area, was held on Sept. 26 at the home of John and Alyson Fielding, Loyalville. A covered dish buffet lunch was enjoyed. Dr. Allan J. Cease offered prayer. The business meeting fol- lowed, presided over by Susan Roese; secretary, Helen Franklin; historian, Pat Krivak. Janet Small was in charge of games and the auction. Births reported were Jesse Robert Rogers, April 14, 2004, son of Amber and Jim Rogers. Deaths reported were Charles Dwyer, Jan. 31, 2003; Hazel Fielding, Feb. 6, 2004; and Donald Bulford, Oct. 13, 2004. Plans are to have next year’s reunion on Saturday, July 23, at the Fielding home. Legion invites oratorical, essay contest entries High school students and home-schooled stu- dents of the Back Mountain have been invited by Dallas American Legion Post 672 to compete in the 66th annual National High School Oratorical Contest. The contest has been arranged with the full cooperation of the local school districts who will assist with the contest arrangements. The subject of the prepared oration portion of the contest must be some phase of the Constitution of the United States, emphasizing the duties and obligations of a U.S. citizen. The prepared oration must be the original effort of each contestant and must be 810 minutes in length. The three national finalists receive schol- arships of $18,000, $16,000 and $14,000, respec- tively. In addition, contestants who win their state finals contest and represent their state at the national contests will receive no less than $1,500 in scholarship funds. The American Legion will pay the expenses of state winners at the national contest. The Post is also sponsoring an essay test. The topic this year is “America — Sweet Land of Liberty.” All essays must be no less than 600 words and no more than 1,000. The local school must determine its own winner by Feb. 5. Prizes will be awarded locally and at the state level. Students interested in either competition may find complete rules at their respective schools or by contacting Clarence J. Michael at 675-0488. Dallas Boy Scout Troop 281 participated in the Historic Traveling Camporee to Washington, DC, Fort McHenry, and Baltimore on October 9-11. They camped at the United States Coa Guard Station Tiscon in Alexandria, Va. A fellow scout, John Gilligan, (an Eagle Scout fro Troop 155) gave them a tour of the Naval Academy. They took a walking tour of Washington D.C., visiting the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, the White House, the Capitol, the World War || monument, Lincoln Memorial. and of course the monument for the Boy Scouts of America. The scouts visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where Mike Dennis took part in the wreath laying ceremony.
