A lot of opponents are pointing to us, but our girls have handled that very well.” In addition, to their state qualifiers, the Mounts had some other outstanding per- formances that helped them in the team standings. Whitney Adams, Cassie Snider, Robin Razawich and Kate Smith set a school record (4:14.00) to finish second in the 1600m relay. Kerestes and Jones finished second and third, respectively, at 1600m while teammate Beth Moran finished fourth in the discus. “Beth Moran was proba- bly our most pleasant surprise at the district meet,” said Samuel. “She had a throw of 101 feet, which surpassed her previous best by 12 feet.” Snider also took sixth in long jump (15-0 3/4) and sixth in triple jump (32-4 1/2).
