The $60 fee in- cludes green fees, cart, lunch, social hour, buffet dinner and bever- ages. The format of play will be “Captain & Crew”. Lunch and regis- tration will be held at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. First hole- in-one on #8 wins a trip for two to the Bahamas. Hole sponsorships are available. LCCC Foundation golf tournament The Luzerne County Community College Foundation, Inc. will hold the twelfth annual scholarship golf tournament on Monday, October 7, at Edgewood in the Pines Golf Course, Drums. The tournament will be captain and crew format and will begin with brunch at 11 a.m. Play will begin at noon with a shotgun start. A cocktail reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner. Ellis earns medal in Keystone basketball Lyndsay Ellis, 12, of Shavertown, won a Bronze medal at the 2002 Keystone State Summer Games held July 30 through August 4 in the Luzerne/Lackawanna County Area. Ellis competed in the Youth Female division of the Basketball competition. BMT National All star District Team The Back Mountain National All Star team had a successful All Star season. The team posted a 12-2 record in tournament play. The Back Mountain team captured the Wilkes-Barre Rec Tourna- ment beating Mayflower 10-1 in the final game. The team also cam on top at the Northwest Tournament beating Nanticoke 11-2 in the championship game. EF 2002 9-10 YEAR OLp PENISYLVANIA DIST 15 Local runners fare well in triathlon Two local boys finished well at the Endless Mountains Triathlon. Andy Josuweit, a 10th grader at Lake- Lehman, finished third in the 14-17-year-old division and Josh Kaschenbach finished fourth in the same divi- sion. Josh is also a 10th grader at lake lehman.
