Graduate Kimberly Marie Fowler was very fortunate to have her sister, Christina Woods, in the audience. Mrs. Woods lives in New Mexico with her family and flew to Pennsylvania for the cele- bration. Keith Gordon Sprau, Senior Class Vice-President, also spoke about the great memories he has had growing up, especially playing the all-time fun game of Red Rover. Other speakers on Thursday evening were Senior Class Presi- dent Luke Daniel Miller, Valedic- torian Amie Marie Tkaczyk, and Salutatorian Elizabeth Ann Baker. Teachers, parents,and friends were mentioned in the graduates’ speeches. Amie Marie Tkaczyk “asked teachers for their advice because the knowledge and expe- rience they have is far greater than what we possess.” Keith Sprau said, “First and foremost I'd like to thank our par- ents, who have loved and cared for us in their own special way since the day we were born. They have been there for us in the best of times, but more importantly they stood by us in our hardest times.” Elizabath Baker referred to friends when she said, “They have been our shoulder to cry on, when we were upset, and the first to congratulate us when we have tri- umphed.” Mr. Frank Galicki, principal of J the Dallas Senior High School, read the names of the 182 gradu- ates as they came to the stage and Mr. Ernest Ashbridge, Jr., Presi- dent of the Board of Education, awarded the students their diplo- mas. As the names were being read, relatives and friends showed their love and support by clapping loudly, ringing bells, and blowing whistles. After the graduates received their diplomas, the Dallas Senior High School Band and Chorus ac- companied them as they sang the Dallas Mountaineer Alma Mater. When the song concluded with “until the name of Dallas High School makes the mountains ring,” hats went flying and a new era for the graduates began.
