Last call for Spring Rummage Sale The Dallas United Methodist Women will hold their sale at the Dallas Methodist Church at 4 Parsonage and Church Streets on Fri., March 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat., March 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon (bag day). They have a good variety of clean, usable items of clothing, house- hold items, dry goods, jewelry, toys and books. A snack bar will be open both days, along with the soup sale. JONES Mayor’s Club supports Grad 2001 Dallas Mayor's Club presented a $300 check to the Dallas High School Grad 2001 Committee. “We have a group of nice kids and this is a real worth while project,” said Kathleen Savage, Grad 2001 fund raising chairperson. The committee is planning and raising money for the second annual graduation night lock-in for Dallas High School seniors. Four Silver Awards given to local Girl Scouts Senior Girl Scout Troop 665 is holding a Silver Award ceremony on Fri., March 30 to recognize the achievement of four senior scouts who will receive the award. If mailing taxes, in order to receive the rebate, envelopes must be postmarked on or before April 2. Taxes will be due at face value, April 3 thru June 1. State expands eligibility for children’s health insurance -® Expanded income eligibility lev- els for the Children’s Health In- surance Program (CHIP) mean more PA children are eligible for free or low-cost health coverage. CHIP offers free or subsidized health insurance to children from working families that don’t qualify for medical assistance and don’t have private insurance. Current enrollment exceeds 106,000. In the past seven years, enrollments for CHIP have increased by more than 133 percent. Eligibility is based on family size and income. Children of fam- ilies earning up to 200 percent of the federal income poverty guide- lines, or $35,300 for a family of four, may be eligible for free cov- erage. Low-cost insurance is available for children of families earn- ing up to 235 percent of the guide- lines, or $41,478 for a family of four. CHIP covers a variety of health benefits, including dental, vision and hearing services; emergency care; prescription drugs; immu- nizations; diagnostic testing; and routine check-ups. Coverage has also been expanded to include substance abuse treatment, reha- bilitation therapy, medical equip- ment, home health care and par- tial hospitalization for mental health services. Trucksville United Methodist Women to meet The United Methodist Women of the Trucksville United Methodist Church will gather in the Memorial Room (lower level) of the church on Tuesday, April 3 at 1 p.m. President Evelyn Roberts will preside.
