Other members of Dal- las Rotary contributing in the victory were Rebekah Clay 11 points, Caitlin McGuire DYB 9 points and Kim Durr 2 points, while the de- fense was led by Mallory Carey, Jackie Opel and Shoshanna Gitlin. Eye Care Specialist were led by the defense Cory Patton 21 points, Sarah Swepston 3 points and Lauren Macri 2 points, while the defense was led by Megan Savage and Tiffany Gergel. Dallas Rotary will face the Dallas Lions in the finals Saturday. 7-8 GIRLS Dallas Lions 43 - The Dough Company 35 In the second upset of the day Rosalyn Wentko’s game high 22 points puts the #3 seed Dallas Lions in the finals with the victory over #1 seed The Dough Com- pany. Other members of the Dallas Lions contributing were Caitlin Dukas 12 points, Brooke Blase 7 points and Samantha O’Brien 2 points. The defense was led by Jennifer Konopki, Melissa Evans, Nicole Allan and Alyssa Austin. The Dough Company was led by Shan- non Thomas 15 points, Kara Ringler 10 points many rebounds, Kristen Evans, Sarah Piecynski 4 points apiece and Nikki Pisacano 2 points, while the defense was led by Katie Smith and Nicole Macri. Harmon's buzzer-beater litts Metro Pat Harmon made a layup at the buzzer to lift second seeded Intermetro to a 37- 36 victory over 9th seeded Sneaker King. Frank Buzin had 12 points and Tyler Droppers 10. Sneaker King was led by Ken [BN{=] Regan with 18 points and Sam Brown with 11. Also having excellent season were Gracjan Kraszewski, Jared Nothstein, Brian Gibbons, Boomer Coslett, Joe Bednash and Jimmy Schwerdtman. Sneaker King was coached by Jim Regan. 7-8 BOYS Baird Stone 45 - Bonner Chev. 15 Kevin Domzalski scored 17 points and D.J. Molino 12 as top seeded Baird Stone rolled to a 45-15 win over 10th seed Bonner Chevrolet. Ryan Harvey added 4 points for the winners. Bonner was led by Matt Daube with 7 points and Jason Demnicki with 3. Also playing well this season were Tim Crossin, Conor Judge, Todd Derhammer, Mike Hazleton, John Paul Parulski and Jonathan Pall. The clinic will be con- ducted by Misericordia baseball coach Chuck Edkins and his staff. All Back Mountain Baseball coaches are required to attend. Wrestling Club tourney this weekend The Back Mountain Wrestling Club will host its annual tournament of Feb. 20, at the Dallas High School. Weigh in is Feb. 19, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sun., Feb. 20, 7a.m. to 8 a.m. The tournament is open to wrestlers age 14 years and under. Call Chuck Kopetzhne, 696-1351 for more information. Lehman wins Bmt ‘title,’ playoff herth Lake-Lehman won the battle of the Back Mountain, and a playoff berth, Monday night. The Mountaineers, playing at home, took a seven-point lead in the second quarter after an even first period. After the break, the Lady Knights began chipping away, and drew within two points at the end of the third quarter, then outscored Dallas 14-11 in the final period to claim the 44-43 win in a hardfought game that was decided at the foul line. The Mountaineers had hoped to avenge a 20-point loss earlier in the season. Kieran Lucarino led Lehman and all scorers with 16 points, followed closely by teammate Danielle Kern with 15, including 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Jen Frank chipped in 10. Overall, Lehman got 20 points at the foul line. Jenn Noon and Erika Turner had nine points each for Dallas, followed by Stephanie Simonitis with eight. After her first basket, Simonitis was presented with a commemorative ball for reaching 1,000 points in her career. Jeannie Dreier had six points, and Rachel Kukosky added five. Noon hit two 3-point shots, and Kukosky canned one. The win puts Lehman in the District 2, Class AAA playoffs. Knights win division title again The Lake-Lehman Black Knight squad defeated Wyoming Valley West 32-22 and earned the WVC Western Division title yet again. This marks the sixth straight Knights team that has won at least a share of the division crown. Lehman got off to a good early start, with Kelby Morgan (103) and Aaron Kubasik (112) earning consecutive decisions to get the team off to a quick 6-0. Jim Higgins (135) and Bob Morris (152) earned pinfalls to aid in the quest for victory. Matt Gonzales (130) and Dave Delong (189) each pulled out major decision victories. Seniors Jen Frank and Danielle Kern had very sup- portive nights for the winners. Frank scored 14 points in the game while Kern added 11. The three combined to shoot 15-for-17 at foul shots. Dallas 46, Hanover Area 38 Jennifer Noon, Stephanie Simonitis, and Rachel Kukosky scored 40 points on the night as Dallas improved to 3-4 in the second half. An 18-2 Dallas advantage in the third quarter proved to be the differ- ence in the game. Kukosky scored 14 points to lead all scorers, while Noon and Simonitis each added 13 points. BOYS BASKETBALL Crestwood 59, Dallas 48 The Crestwood Comets avenged an earlier loss by defeating Dallas last Tues- day night in Mountaintop. They used a 33-22 margin over the middle two peri- ods of play to distance themselves from the Mountaineers. Chuck Suppon led the Dallas team in scoring with 26 points. Jay Carroll and John Simonitis com- bined for 15 more points. Hanover 77, Dallas 59 Hanover Area blitzed Dallas for 28 third quarter points in getting the win Friday night. Sophomores Chuck Suppon and John Simonitis were the two high men for the Mountaineers. Suppon tal- lied 14 while Simonitis finished with 10. Adam Clay added nine points in the game. Nanticoke 66, Lehman 43 The Trojans continued their success- ful season by nailing eight three-point baskets en route to routing the Black Knights by 23 points. Russ Mosier’s 15 points were tops for Lake-Lehman. Dom Castrignanoadded nine points. The team went 13-for-15 from the foul line in the loss.
