WRESTLING Tunkhannock 46, Dallas 21 The Mountaineers fell to 2-7 with a home loss against 8-2 Tunkhannock last week. Dallas got pinfalls from Joe Siraka (125), Todd Jones (135), and Lee Griffin (140), but Tunkhannock domi- nated the heavier bouts in cruis- ing to the team victory. Mike Ruggere (112) and Damian Temperine (160) both won their matches, with Ruggere winning in major decision fashion. GIRLS SWIMMING Dallas 117, Meyers 68 Dallas pushed its record to one over five hundred at 8-7 with a win against Meyers last Wednes- day afternoon. Erin Allardyce took first place in four different events to lead the Mountaineer surge. Her victories came in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Individual Medley, the 200 Freestyle Relay, and the 400 Freestyle Relay. Sh- annon Gaffney was a triple-win- ner in taking the 200 Medley Re- lay, the 100 Freestyle, and the 400 Freestyle Relay. Annie Sav- age took first in both the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Abbie Pisacano was part of the winning relay teams in the 200 Medley and the 400 Freestyle and | took second in the 200 Individual Medley and in the 100 Fly. Erin Cooper was the winner of the div- ing event as well as participating in the winning 200 Freestyle relay ‘team. Lynn Kirkwood won the 100 Fly and was on the 200 Freestyle relay team. Colleen Murphy was second in diving and swam the first leg of the 200 Med- ley relay. Lacey Cooper was a part of the winning 200 Free relay team and finished third in the 200 Indi- vidual Medley. Lake-Lehman inducts 3 into new hoops Hall of Fame LEHMAN - The Lake-Lehman High School Basketball Hall of Fame inducted its first three mem- bers last week. They are: Rodger Bearde, long-time coach and ath- letic director; David Penkrot, a 1981 graduate who still holds the school scoring record; and Rich Davis, a 1993 graduate who went on be captain of the Franklin & Marshall University basketball team. John Oliver, high school prin- cipal, introduced the inductees, each of whom received a plaque signifying the honor. GOH girls JV team on a tear The Gate of Heaven Girls J.V. Basketball Team executed two impressive wins recently in the Wyoming Valley Catholic League. The Lady Gators defeated Pope John Paul 22-18 by spreading scoring across the team. Laura Nieman, Maggie Guntli, Gina Martin and Carla Reino each had four points, while Jennifer Bonetski, Kellie Casey and Erin Tanner each had a basket. Defen- sively, the Gators were lead by the strong play of Jennifer Bonetski. In the second game, the Lady Gators defeated St Boniface 27- 13 with another balanced scoring spree lead by Gina Martin with eight points and Erin Tanner with five points. Annie Onzik, Kellie Casey and Maggie Guntli each had four points, with Laura Nieman grabing a single bucket. The Gator pressure defense was lead by Ali Baur, Caral Reino, and Katie Ambrose, with the defensive boards being handlled by Jessica Murray and Stephanie Afghani. Shiner leads House of Nutrition to #1 seed Ronnie Shiner led House of Nutrition over NAPA Auto Parts 33-25, with 15 points. Wilkes-Barre Pallet finishes the season at 5-5 and the #4 seed. They will again play the #5 seed MSDW on Wednesday. Gilroy Real Estate 47 - Luzerne National Bank 38 Mike Race led the way for Luzerne National Bank with 13 points, followed by J.J. Durr, Paul Daniels 8 points apiece, Mike O'Day 6 points, Max Millington 2 points and Adam Besecker 1 point. Gilroy Real Estate ends the sea- son 8-2 and the #2 seed for the playoffs where they faced the #7 seed NAPA Auto Parts, Tuesday. Quality Collision, CDI in championship tilt Semi final games CDI- Forty Fort 21, Penn State Seed 14 It was CDI 12 and Penn State Seed 10 after the third quarter. CDI took charge in the fourth quarter to advance to the champi- onship game. High Scorer for CDI was Robin Razawich with 12 points. Lindsey McCabe had three points and Brittney Allan, Ashley Judge, and Stephanie Konecke each had a basket. Jessica English was on fire for Penn State Seed scoring 10 points. Laura Nieman and Jackie Arnaud each had two points. Becky Vodzak and Claire Mitchell led the defense. Quality Collision 27, Legion Post 672 17 ; Quality Collision was ahead 9 to 8 at half, but came alive in the second half to win the first semi- final of the day. Nikki Pisacano was high scorer for Quality Colli- sion with 14 points with 12 of those in the second half. Jackie O'Brien and Jessica Jones each had 4 points. Devin Lacey and Jennifer Boback each had a bucket and Paige Kyle scored on a free throw. Lisa Giacometti got hot in the second half for the Legion, scoring a game high 8 points. Cassie Snider had 5 points while Melissa Evans had 2 bas- kets. Alicia Evans played great defense for her team. Next week: Sunday, Feb. 20 at 1:30 is the championship game between Quality Collision and CDI. The mother/daughter game is immediately following the cham- pionship game.
