Lehman Twp. seeks payment of delinquent sewer bills At their July meeting, the Leh- man Township Municipal Author- ity directed Solicitor, Attorney M. John Haley, to begin legal action against property owners who are delinquent in paying their sewer service bills. Some sewer users have not paid their bill for a year. There are 11 delinquent accounts totaling $3,175.88. Writers welcome at open reading August 7 S.P.A.W.N., the Society of Poets and Writers of the Northeast, will be hosting an Open Reading on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. at The Java Gallery, 177 Main Street, Luzerne. S.P.A.W.N. is hosting the event to kick off their fifth season. The open reading is open to all writers of any genre. The group meets on a monthly basis and provides a platform for the group members to hone their writing craft. The class graduated 51 persons; 44 are living; of which 33 members attended. Also attending the reunion were guests Mr. and Mrs. George McCutcheon, Mr. and Mrs. Walter H.R. Mohr, Mr. and Mrs. William Carroll. William Morgan, class president, served as toastmaster. Invocation was given by Leonard Krispin, followed by the singing of the Alma Mater. Remarks on “Then and Now” and also letters from members unable to attend were read by Sheldon McAvoy. Awards were presented by May Chamberlain. Music and dancing were provided by Bobby Baird Group. On Saturday morning a breakfast buffet was held at Picketts Charge, followed by a tour of the former Kingston Township High . School, presently the Westmoreland Elementary School.
