The team photo is not of the 1939 6r 1938 or 1937 team, for “three of the four backfield men, Sullivan, Niemeyer (not “Neimayer”), and Kuderka, were classmates of mine and we all graduated from high school in * June’ of 1937, before the 1937 ‘season began, as did two of the linemen, Major and Hull (not “Hall”). The photo is almost certainly of the 1935 team (although there is some very remote possibility that it could be of the 1934 team). I know that it is not of the 1936 team, for | was starting center at the "beginning of the season (a position from which I had to be ‘removed because of my inability * to center the ball with any degree of accuracy) and a starting tackle ' for’ the entire balance of that sea- son, and I do not appear in the photo. It should be noted that, in ad- dition to the misspelling of Bill Niemeyer's name, the name of Robert Hull is also misspelled. His name was “Hull”, not “Hall”. P.S. One omission. Bill Mann, the right end and team captain shown in the photo, was also in my 1937 graduating class. R. L. Free high blood pressure screening High blood pressure is recognized as the major cause of heart disease in the United States, yet 17 million people who have this health problem don't know it. On Wed., Feb. 3, healthcare providers will conduct a free blood pressure check. Local residents can be checked at The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, 26 Dallas Shopping Center, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Because high blood pressure has no symptoms, it often goes undetected. The only way to determine if a person has the condition is through a simple test. Regular'blood pressure checks are critical because people with elevated blood pressure need toreceive a physician's care and treatment to prevent disablement or even death. Health check programs like high blood pressure screenings let the public take an active role in health maintenance.
