Lehman-Jackson PTA to hold 'Tea Night' Senior conferences scheduled soon A warm welcome back to all Dallas students from the Guid- ance Staff! Special thanks to par- ents and students who made the effort to visit us this summer and work out schedule problems. This made for a smooth opening of the school year. Our focus for the year now turns to our seniors, the class of 1999. Very shortly, parents who re- sponded to our letter this sum- mer will be called to set up our senior conferences. During this time we will do a credit audit to insure everything is in order for graduation and talk about future plans including college. We hope to have all conferences scheduled within the next week or so. e000 Congratulations go out to Dal- las students for their SAT scores during the 1997-98 school year. We are proud to announce that our combined score of 1034 was the best of all the public schools in Luzerne County and higher than the state average. Engineering review at PSU Penn State Wilkes-Barre will offer the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Review course beginning Monday, Sept. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at the campus in Lehman. The course is designed for individuals who have completed an engineer- ing program and want a review before taking the Engineer-in- Training examination, held in April and October each year. The 78 hour credit-free course is taught by fulltime Penn State faculty and practicing registered engineers. The program employs a com- prehensive collection of questions and answers from past examina- tions, familiarizing participants with formats and procedures. It systematically reviews fundamen- tal concepts in engineering eco- nomics, emphasizing the devel- opment of problem-solving skills. The content is also useful in pre- paring for the national Examina- tion for Professional Registration. Since 1968, Penn State's com- prehensive EIT review course has been preparing engineers for their professional licensure examina- tion. Penn State's review programs are designed to refresh one's knowledge, not to provide specific .exam-taking techniques. All pro- grams require participants to spend some time out of class go- ing over the material, reviewing notes and solving homework prob- ‘lems. Those who wish to register for the April examinations must do so by December 1 of the previous year; for the October examina- tion, by July 1.
