Major Performing Arts students will be on state at county fair Talented singers and dancers from Major Performing Arts will perform for the 1998 Luzerne County Fair on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 2:30 p.m. The family is invited for an afternoon of great entertainment, all at the brand new Luzerne County Fair Amphitheatre. The brand new Luzerne County Fair Amphitheatre is huge, and boasts a fabulous sound system. Bill O’Boyle, Public Relations Director for the Heinz Institute introduced Miguel Such to the Club. Miguel was paralyzed in a motrocycle accident three years ago and is now involved in wheel-chair racing. He is representing Allied Services/John Heinz in the upcoming “Riverside Rumble” scheduled for the weekend of September 19-20. Miguel spoke to the Club about his rehabilitation program at John Heinz and his continuing involvement in sports, which is now “wheel-chair” racing. One of the phones was sold at the library’s annual auction. The other telephone will be kept for the library’s use. The telephones, two of only 100 in existence, were commissioned last year as part of the Commonwealth Telephone’s year-long centennial birthday celebration.
