ee Si La Cnr or, 12 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, June 19, 1996 BACK MOUNTAIN BASEBALL In the last week of regular play in Boys-Major League the results are as follows: Rangers 11 - Orioles 1 Tim Faneck drove in four runs with two doubles and a single, and Shawn Whalen plated two more with a single and double in a game where 10 different players scored runs for the Rangers. Faneck and Whalen combined to limit the Orioles to just one hit, a run-scoring single by Ed Krasniak in the fourth. Cardinals 17 - Rangers 6 Matt Metz led a nine-hit Cardi- nal attack with a home run and - single in the season finale. Walp and Brian Downey chipped in with a pair of hits each. Bryan Whalen and Tim Faneck each had three hits for the Rang- ers; Faneck had two for extra bases. Shawn Whalen and Mike Darling had two hits each. Yankees 6 - Indians 2 Jell Emanuel came in to pitch three innings to get the win with six strikeouts for the Yankees. The Yankee hitters out did the Indians with John Pambianco gelling three hits, Frank Buzin and Todd Kerestes collecting two hits. Dodgers 19 - Pirates 1 Aaron Moyer allowed only four hits in four innings and kept the Pirates to one run with the win on the mound. Eric Kowalek led the hitting attack for the Dodgers with three hits all being doubles. Scott Lozo, Moyer, Jeremy Moore, and Josh Bryant all had two hits at the plate while Bryant's hits were a double and triple. Jordy Spencer and David Suszko were two for two for the Pirates while Drew Suszko hit a double. Indians 7 - Orioles 5 The Indians picked up a win in continuation of play from a tied game with Jim Jordan complet- ing the game as a relief pitcher and getting the win on the mound. Mike Yenason had two hits and Mike Fehlinger added three more hits while getting a double, triple, and a inside-the-park-homer in the batting attack for the Indians. Ryan Gryskevicz had three hits including two doubles with team- mate John Krispin adding two hits for the Orioles. Jr. League-Baseball Pirates 5 - Rockies 4 Louis Spurlin singled in C.J. Adamchak in the bottom of the ninth inning for the winning run. The win gives the Pirates seven wins with two losses. The game was a pitching duel with Mike Domzalski (11 K's) and Randy Knappman (12 K's). Hit- ting for the Pirates were Adamchak going two for three, with iwo RBI's and Knappman two for three. Frank Velde had a double in the game for the Rockies. Braves 4 - Pittston Twp. 2 Josh Katyl struckout 12 while allowing only three hits and two walks in a complete game win over Pittston Twp. A 2-2 tie was broken in the fifth inning by Dan Krause and Justin DiGiuseppe driving in the winning runs. Braves 10 - W. Pittston 1 Stephen Moyer, Josh Katyl and Jared Karalunas pitched a no- hitter with Moyer earning the win. Paul Hiller led the hitting with two doubles, Katyl added a double and Moyer adding two hits. Klye Droppers had two hits for the Blue Jays and E.J. Ishley col- lected a double. Yankees 17 - Red Sox 5 Nate Yoh relieved Frank Buzin in three innings as the two com- bined efforts to beat the Red Sox as pitchers for the Yankees. John Pambianco had three hits and Jel[Emanuel had two with a triple and a homer along with Matt Goeringer hitting a double and a homer, to lead the strong hitting attack for the Yanks. Other team members shining at the plate were Matt Rondina, Bob Gephardt, and Andrew Check. Pirates 6 - Astros 3 Jordy Spencer pitched a com- plete game with 12 strikeouts to give the Pirates a slot in the Na- tional League playoffs. The Pi- rales scored six runs on five hits to go ahead of the Astros alter the second inning and Spenceer struck the last out in the sixth with bases loaded to shut down any scoring at the end of the game. Spencer, Drew Suszko, and Jordan Koslowski hit doubles in the game while David Suszko had two hits at bat for the Pirates. Jamie Rhodes was two for three at the plate with a triple for the Astros. Pirates 16 - Tigers 5 Jordan Koslowski was the win- ning pitcher and also had three hits in beating the Tigers in this make-up game. Jordy Spencer, Matt Breymeier, Tyler Droppers and Drew Suszko all had two hits for the Pirates with Suszko hitting a double in the game. Matt Katyl had two hits for the Tigers while Ryan Pettit hit a double in the game. Sr. League Softball Dodgers 12 - Phillies 9 Sarah Rodgers had her debut on the mound for the Dodgers and completed the back and forth game for a win. Her teammates Rachel Hiller went three for four and Maureen Paley went four for _ fourand Colleen Murphy hitting a double supported her at the plate. The Phillies, Amanda Stolarick pitched for her team and went three for four at the bat. AAA - Baseball Red Sox 16 - Astros 3 Pat Harmon was the winning pitcher and also had a homer in the game. David Shultz of the Red Sox and Chris Grieves and Colin Madigan of the Astros hit doubles in the game. Red Sox 16 - Dodgers 8 David Shultz had the win on the mound as well as getting a triple and single at bat. His team- mates Tim Crossin and Bob Holeman hit homers along with Ryan Marascio getting two hits. David Moore, Mark Rossick and Kevin Bloom got hits for the Dodg- ers.
