Itis free and open to the public. Two named to Marywood Dean's list Two Shavertown students at Marywood College were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 1995 semester. To achieve this honor, students must attain a quality point average of 3.55-4.000n 12 or more graded credits for first hon- ors, or a quality point average of 3.2510 3.54 on 12 or more graded credits for second honor. Misericordia students screen for stroke Nursing students from College Misericordia recently participated in “Heartscore,” a stroke risk | assessment program offered free to the community through the American Heart Association, CBS News and Quaker Oats. The Misericordia juniors screened blood pressures, helped individuals complete brain attack (stroke) risk assessments and offered health counseling on ways to prevent stroke. The students completed 848 screenings at locations in the Wyoming Valley Mall, Wegman's Wilkes-Barre and Wal-Mart, Tunkhannock. Kalinowski named to Dean's List Eileen Kalinowski has been named to the Dean's List at Thomas M. * Cooley Law School, Lansing, MI for outstanding achievement for the Fall, 1995 semester. Eileen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kalinowski of Dallas. She is a graduate of Dallas High School, King’s College and a former legislative assistant to State Representative Phyllis Mundy. Eileen just completed her first year at Thomas Cooley and will graduate in December, 1997. Area student artists win book shop contest The Tudor Book Shop & Cafe Gallery celebrated Youth Art Month in March with a student art show featuring art works from students in grades 7-12. German students make gingerbread houses Every holiday season since 1978, Mrs. Ellen Boyer's German students at the Dallas Middle School have baked and decorated gingerbread houses, a very old German tradition.
