Taroli's score of 90 points was highest among local entrants. The statewide winner was Jerry Klima of North Huntingdon, with a 106 point score, the lowest winner in several weeks. The average of 26 local winners in the state was only 88 points, the lowest of the entire contest. As a local weekly winner, Taroli 4 will receive $25 cash from The Dallas Post, and a free month of HBO from contest co-sponsor Tele-Media.. The Power Points contest handed out a total of $12,750 in prize money during the 17-week contest term, more than ever be- fore. Out of a possible 30 points the Renegades scored 29. They scored 27 goals and had 1 goal scored against them. The team beat the Point Pleasant Yellow Jackets 8-0, Holmdel Stallions 13-0 and Drum Point Rangers 6-1, earning them first place in the tournament. Kiwanis tourney aids Geisinger The Dallas Kiwanis Club members recently held its annual golf tournament to benefit the Pennsylva- nia Kiwanis Children’s Heart Center at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. LE Butcofski, Straigis named to AP all-state first team Rich Butcofski and Marty Straigis were named to the 1994 Associated Press Pennsylvania Small School all-state first team last week. Butcofski, a linebacker and fullback was picked for the defen- sive spot on the list. He had been selected the Most Valuable Player in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division II, and was second team all-state selec- tion last season. Straigis, who also was on the second team last year, was cho- gon in the offensive tackle posi- ion. Sem. 67 It took two overtime periods for the Blue Knights to finally edge out Lehman 67-59 December 20. Tim Waslick drove in a whopping 30 points including three 3-point shots. Seminary shifted into high gear in the final overtime to out- shoot Lehman 12-7 and capture the win. Lehman 66 - W.S. Tech 49 Ray Bartosh hit the long shot December 21 aiding Lehman in a 66-49 win over Tech. Bartosh drilled 11 points including three 3-point shots.
