Lake-Lehman students to attend Region Band Seventeen students from Lake-Lehman were chosen to attend the 1991 Region IV Band Festival which was held recently at the Berwick Senior High School. The band is comprised of 160 high school students from a 10 county area who were selected through district auditions which were held this past January. The guest conductor for this year's festival was Dr. Wayne Gorder who is the director of the wind ensemble at Kent State University. The students rehearsed under the direction of Mr. Gorder for three days and gave a public concert at the Berwick Sr. High School March 9th. Library Open House and Graduation at Penn State Wilkes-Barre Nearly 100 people attended the Library Open House and Graduation Reception held at the campus of Penn State Wilkes-Barre recently. The Open House was held to showcase the renovation of the Library building. The graduates were the honored guests. Several of the graduates returned to the Wilkes-Barre campus to complete their baccalaureate degree requirements. Demonstrations of the Library Information Access System and other data researching tools highlighted the event. Graduation ceremonies included the presentation of diplomas.
