Dallas, PA Wednesday, March. 28, 1990 10 The Dallas Post SCHOOL Michael Williams gains scholarship to Rensselaer Michael Williams, a senior at Dallas High School, has been awarded a scholarship to Rensse- laer Polytechnic Institute where he will pursue his college education with an engineering major. RPI is located in Troy, N.Y. and is the oldest engineering school in the United States. While at Dallas, Mike has par- ticipated in baseball and basket- ball. He is a member of the Student Council, the Gifted Program, American Literature Field Studies and construction crew. Mike is also a NEDT award winner, first place winner in the Stock Market Game, a National Leadership and Service Award winner, and has won a U.S. National Award in Science, and is an Honor Roll student. Mike has been active in Back Mountain sports programs, par- ticipating in soccer, baseball and * basketball. He is a member of St. Therese's Church. Mike is the son of Mike and Carol Williams, Shavertown. He has a sister Geralyn, a sophomore at Hamilton College, Clinton, N.Y.; brother Chris, a sophomore at Dallas High School; and a brother David, a fourth grade student at by DJ “Hummin’ with Helch”. Dallas SADD to hold dance A SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) dance for Dallas Middle School students in grades seven through nine will be held on Friday, March 30 by the SADD chapter at Dallas Middle School. The theme of the dance is “Hats off to SADD”, a peaceful protest against drinking and driving. Over 25 prizes will be donated by merchants throughout the valley for the “hat contest”. Earns state band honors Lake-Lehman’s Scott Brown was chosen to the Pennsylvania Music Educators’ Association All-State Festival to be held in Hershey on April Sto 7. Scott is a senior and has played trombone in the marching band the past six years. He is the Band's Secretary and section leader for the trombones. This is the second time Scott has earned All-State Band honors. He is the son of Barry and Diane Brown, Harveys Lake. 1st place. Wasserott donates tapes to Lower School Mr. Charles Wasserott, President of Patient Care, Kingston Town- ship, recently donated over 35 educational videotapes to Wyoming Seminary’s Lower School Library.
