a ha COMMUNITY The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, March 28,1990 9 Community invited to honor outstanding girls GFWC/PFWC The Harveys Lake Women's Service Club a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs will hold a special “Community Night" for its program on Thursday, April 5, at the Lake- Noxen Elementary School. Nine senior women from Lake-Lehman High School will be honored that evening. The “Outstanding Girls of the Year” are selected in conjunc- tion with the guidance department of the high school under the direc- tion of Miss Sylvia Bator. The women are Shelly Hanson, Megan Kozemchak, Nicole Gardner, Re- becca Emelett,” Molly White, Heather Salko, Robyn Pavlick, Michelle Lankwarden and Kimberly Vollrath. “We are very proud of allour fine young women graduating thisyear from Lake-Lehman High School,” said Dr. Karen Boback, Education Chairman of the Harveys Lake Women's Service Club. "This year’s senior class has some very fine examples of leadership, academic excellence and community involve- ment.” President Mary Jude Swanson added, “These young women are wonderful examples of women making a statement in our society. We hope that these young adults continue to strive towards Leader- ship roles in the community.” Community Events Co-Chair- man, Joyce Birt extended an invi- tation to the community by saying, “We invite all our friends and neigh- bors from the Harveys Lake and surrounding communities to join us in our tribute and be our special guests for the evening.” All interested community mem- bers are invited to attend this special community night at the Harveys Lake Women's Service Club. Area Jaycees announce spring membership drive The Back Mountain Jaycees have announced their Spring Membership Drive. The local lead- ership training organization, a top ranked Pennsylvania chapter, is currently accepting applications for members. A membership “welcome” to all interested community minded persons, as well a current Jaycees will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 8 p.m. atthe Farmer's Inn, Huntsville Road, in Trucksville. Membership is open to men and women 21 to 40 years of age. The chapter is involved in numerous community and leader- ship training activities and is cele- brating its 15th anniversary. Class decorates Meadows The windows of the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas, are deco- rated with shamrock cutouts, thanks to the CCD Class from St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Easter Bunny to pose at Harveys Lake GFWC/PFWC The Harveys Lake Women's Service Club a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs will sponsor pic- tures with the Easter Bunny at Harveys Lake. The pictures will be taken at Hoss’ Garden Center on Route 415 at the entrance to Har- veys Lake. The photos of children with the Easter Bunny will be on Sunday, March 31 and on Sunday April 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $2.75 each. Money from this event will be used to fund services of- fered to fire victims in the Harveys Lake area and to support the club's work in the community.
