The new organ is made possible ‘by the recent establishment of the Evans Memorial Endowment by ‘Sheldon Evans in memory of his late wife Almenia. The Evans Family have been early and long time supporters of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas. The Evans Endowment to the Minsitry of Music Program will enable the Parish to both expand and fund the music program at the church including a perpetual organ re- placement. The recital will feature John Binde, M.A. Religion, of the Allen Company, Macungie, Pa., as the guest recitalist. Music for the re- cital will include hymns, classical presentations and selections which will enable the attendees to hear the full range of the organs fea- tures while at the same time pres- ent this magnificent instrument in its full glory. Areception will follow the recital in the Parish Hall. The recital is open to the public and the commu- nity is encouraged to attend this significant event in the life of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church. Boam to address church fellowship club Gary C. Boam Gary C. Boam, Vice Presient of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Partner- ship, Inc., will be guest speaker at the Fellowship Club of the Shaver- town United Methodist Club of the Shavertown United Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 3, 6:45 p.m. in the Church Social Room. His topic will be “Development of This Area in the Next Decade.” William Lowstuter will preside at the gathering which will begin with dinner. Reports will be made by Ruth Roan, Secretary and Charles Huey, Treasurer. Mr. Boam is a native of Moscow, where he currently makes his home with his wife, Jean, and sons, Christopher and Jeffrey. He is a graduate of the University of Scran- ton with a B.S. degree in Political Science. He had a tour of duty of six years in the U.S. Navy achiev- ing the rank of Lt. Commander. He has served as Director of Develop- ment, Scranton Redevelopment Authority; Development Adminis- trator of Wilkes-Barre Redevelop- ment Authority; Director of Ad- ministration in Real Estate and Public Relations for Jewelcor; and since 1985, has served as Vice President of the Greater Wilkes- Barre Partnership. Plans for the new year were also dis- cussed. ldetown United Methodist Women reorganize The Idetown United Methodist Women held their reorganization and year planning meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Ide- town Church House. They are planning major renovations to their kitchen facilities with a new steam table and new commercial inlaid floor covering. All projects are to be finished in time for this year's annual dinners.
