Host families accept children from the war-torn areas of North- ern Ireland as guests in their homes for a six-week period each sum- mer. The children range from 9 to 14 years of age. Trucksville Nursery registration Feb. 2 The Trucksville Nursery School, located in the Trucksville United Methodist Church will hold its annual Registration Day on Fri- day, Feb. 2. The school celebrates its 21st year of service to the Back Mountain community and sur- rounding areas. : This year there are 16 classes of children ages two through five years old. Our emphasis is on socializa- ~ tion and developing a child's self esteem. There are a variety of field trips throughout the year and opportunities for the children to become more aware of the world ‘around them. This month the children are involved in learning activities re- lating to the winter season. They are discussing proper dress for winter, hibernation, and care of winter birds. The children will have their eyes tested by the Pennsylva- nia Blind Association. Another ~ special project has been learning about endangered species. This year’s focus for three's is the dolphin and our four and five year olds will learn about endan- gered birds. Our preschoolers are involved in making crafts related to the ~ current theme, role playing, sing- 1990 dog licenses are overdue Farmers who own a dog or dogs should be reminded that a dog license on each dog they own is an insurance policy on any livestock they have that is killed by a dog, ~ coyote or dies from rabies. Payment for livestock killed by dogs, coyotes or dies from rabies can only be made to farmers or livestock owners who keep the dogs they own licensed each year. Also a dog license is proof of ownership and becomes very im- portant to the dog owner if it should stray from their property. Lori, a 1987 graduate of Dallas Senior High School is a junior at Liberty University majoring in Christian psychology.
