Interment was in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Trucks- ville. Eugene Patrick Pryor, 58, Sutton Rd., Shavertown, died Wednesday, Sept. 2 in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston following ' an extended illness. He was born in Luzerne, son of the late Patrick and Margaret Gregson Pryor. He had been a resident of the Back Mountain area for several years. During World War II, he served as a navigational bombardier with the First Marine Air Wing, First Division in the Pacific Theater. He had been associated with the A & P Tea Co. for 39 years. He was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Teslicko; two sons, Richard P., Kingston; Eugene P., Jr., Needham Heights, Mass; two brothers, Patrick M., Wilkes-Barre; Frank A., Luzerne; one sister, Mrs. Esther McCreary, Car- teret, N.J.; two grand- children. Bids sought for Meadows pond Dallas Township Board of Supervisors have in- structed Smith-Miller Associates, engineers, to advertise for bids as part of ‘the first phase of building a pond at the Meadows apartment complex on Lake Street. According to Douglas Trumbewer, Smith-Miller representative, phase one is the relocating of the stream which connects to the pond. The pond will eventually serve as a fire protection for the Meadows. It will also be used for the sprinkler system and auxiliary water system for fire fighting. The Meadows is the three building complex which will house senior citizens and is the first such complex in the Back Mountain. It is being built under the direction of Ecumenical Enterprises Inc. Planning decision to be appealed Rita Spar, Fox Hollow, and Joseph Schroeders have decided to appeal the decisions of the Dallas Township = Planning Commission in turning down their applications. Mrs. Spar applied for a variance to use her home as an office for elec- trolysis treatments. Her application was denied. The objections of her neighbors in the development had impact on the commission’s decision. Mr. Schroeders applied for a variance to build 20 condominium units off a section of Route 309 ad- jacent to the Brookfield Apts. The commission also turned his ap- plication down. Atty. Robert Scovell represents Mr. Schroeders. Judge Podcasy has indicated. that he must have a more concise brief to read and so Atty Frank Townend, solicitor for Dallas Township will have his secretary take notes on the matter at the Sep- tember 21 session of the Planning Commission.
