BY MIKE POLK 333-4387 The Bloodmobile will make its annual visit to the Noxen area on Monday, Oct. 5 at the Noxen United Methodist Church. Donation hours will be from 12:30 to 5:30. Volunteers are needed to make telephone calls and serve refreshments. Ladies Society of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Noxen will furnish the sandwiches. Rev. Russell Walla, a missionary to Okinawa, presented a report at the service in Independent Bible Church of Noxen. Rev. Mr. Walla, who resides in Wisconsin, is home on furlough. Steve Traver, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Traver, has begun studies for a degree in agriculture at Penn State University. Trustee board of Noxen United Methodist Church will meet this evening at 7. A meeting of the ad- ministrative board will follow at 8. Mrs. Mary Hopfer of Noxen is home after a week as a medical patient at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. Her condition is reported as improved. George Haynor of Kunkle is home after a stay at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Junior Youth Fellowship of Noxen United Methodist Church will resume its meetings after the Summer layoff on Sunday afternoon at 3 at the church. Noxen Rebels will hold their “dnhual’* softball tourney Saturday and Sunday at the Noxen diamond. The annual meet brings hundreds of out-of-town players and fans to town. Noxen Ambulance Association will sponsor benefit social parties at Hanson’s Amusement Park at Harveys Lake Saturday evening from 6 to 10, and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. Proceeds will go towards the new ambulance. for yourself! ~ PAGE ELEVEN Among area youth, who have enrolled at Penn State at Lehman are Jim MacDougal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mac- dougal; Jeff Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett of Buckwheat Hollow, and Scott Jurista, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michale Jurista. All are 1981 graduates of Tunkhannock Area High School. Tabitha Joy Beck, in- fant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Beck, is home from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a bout with pneumonia. Mrs. Ruth Field and her sister, Mariel Lutes, hosted the recent meeting of the Classmates Class of Noxen United Methodist Church. Installation of a new ramp to aid handicapped visitors has been com- pleted at the Nulton Funeral Home in Beaumont. Lend-A-Hand Club is doing a good job, in keeping the Veterans’ honor roll on Route 309 looking nice with a nice array of flowers. Aerobic classes to begin The D.C. Roberts Fire Co. Aux. of Harvey's Lake - will again sponsor aerobic dance classes at the Lake- Noxen Elementary School. The classes will begin Tuesday night, Sept. 15, with 2 classes being offered. One class will run from 7-8 p.m. and one will run from 8-9 p.m. Registration will be on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 10, from 8-9:30 p.m. Fee for 6 week session is $8.00 and the class will be instructed by Sally Foerber.
