Bids sought for Meadows
pond
Dallas Township Board
of Supervisors have in-
structed Smith-Miller
Associates, engineers, to
advertise for bids as part
of ‘the first phase of
building a pond at the
Meadows apartment
complex on Lake Street.
According to Douglas
Trumbewer, Smith-Miller
representative, phase one
is the relocating of the
stream which connects to
the pond. The pond will
eventually serve as a fire
protection for the
Meadows. It will also be
used for the sprinkler
system and auxiliary
water system for fire
fighting.
The Meadows is the
three building complex
which will house senior
citizens and is the first
such complex in the Back
Mountain. It is being built
under the direction of
Ecumenical Enterprises
Inc.
Planning decision to be
appealed
Rita Spar, Fox Hollow,
and Joseph Schroeders
have decided to appeal
the decisions of the Dallas
Township = Planning
Commission in turning
down their applications.
Mrs. Spar applied for a
variance to use her home
as an office for elec-
trolysis treatments. Her
application was denied.
The objections of her
neighbors in the
development had impact
on the commission’s
decision.
Mr. Schroeders applied
for a variance to build 20
condominium units off a
section of Route 309 ad-
jacent to the Brookfield
Apts. The commission
also turned his ap-
plication down. Atty.
Robert Scovell represents
Mr. Schroeders. Judge
Podcasy has indicated.
that he must have a more
concise brief to read and
so Atty Frank Townend,
solicitor for Dallas
Township will have his
secretary take notes on
the matter at the Sep-
tember 21 session of the
Planning Commission.
Truck, car sought
Bids will also be ad-
vertised for a new police
cruiser and a one-ton
dump truck. These bids
will be opened on Sept. 21.
