Great head, and Miss Mary Piltman, left McConnellsburg, early last Thursday morning for a day's outing early enough to bo at the top of the great Tuscarora mountain to witness the first peep of the sun as it sent forth a shower of scintillating beams from the eastern horizon. This beautiful view, coupled with the invigorating ozone-laden atmos phere of an ideal early summer morning, made them feel well re paid for the small sacrifice of mamug the ascent at so early an hour. But they could not tarry; there were other places to visit other sights to see, and onward they went until the hostonc town of old Fort Loudon was reached. Aftei having filled their pockets with Indian arrows, and colonial relics picked up on the site of the old fort, they boarded the South Peun and onward they went and they went. The Nkws could not tell all that tho party saw during the day without leaving some of the medicine locals out; henco our readers must bo con tent with the knowledge that they returned to McConuellsburg, at uine o'clock on the evening of that day. Some of the places visited were: Mercersburg, Lemaster, Williamson, Stone Bridge, Marion, Chambersburg, (Juilford Springs, Kaullmans, Greeucastle, Minor, and Maugans villa.
