With the exception of the third ward every ward in the borough gave Emery and the reform ticket a handsome majority. Ia the third ward Stuart won out by a small majority. For congress Sayre bor- ough fulfilled expectations and has given George W. Kipp, the Demo- cratic Independent nominee for congress, a fine majority. Nor- mally Sayre is a Republican bors ough, but the Republicans voted with the Democrats and th: Emery and Kipp tickets were both sus. tained by big m:jorities. The second ward, under the master leadership of E. J. Connelly, gave the biggest majority of any of the wards in the borough; Liilcy, the Republican candidate, being beaten two to one, The election ia this borough passed off quietly, Notwithstaad ing that the contest was a heated one, there was no disturbance of any kind, except now and then a clash of tongues. All the wards were filled with workers and every hack and single rig ia the town was pressed into service in order to get the voters to the polls. The vote polled is not as large as was expected, many preferring to res main at home, The Sccialist organization polled a considerable number of votes and is showiag an appreciable gain in strength, Moscrip and Stevens, neither of whom was opposed, will go to the assembly, while Scott, the Repub- lican candidate for jury commis- siworer, and Graham, the Demos cratic nomioce, received large votes.
