Woke up JOHN.- The persistency with which the city editor of the Elmiru, Advertiser credits our locals to other papers, leads to the conclusion that it is done designedly. One of our coteinporaries gives an account of an incident alter a recent Gliurch picnic,the advent, of " a respectably dressed and well ap pearing, strange gentleman," in search of a wife. It may be questioned whether it is right to present extraneous attractions of this kind to draw people to these pleasant affairs. People cross the ocean and pay thousands of dollars 40 see Niagara Falls. An opportu nity is now afforded any of our readers to see the great vvonher for less than five dol lars. Excursionists to Niagara Falls oil Tuesday next need have 110 fears of extortionate charges when arriving tlieie. The managers have arranged every detail, as will be noticed. Admission to all places lias been secured at remarkably low rates. And arrangements liaye been made with the Spencer House, one of the best hotels, for meals at 50 cents, half the usual rate. The Ilazleton school hoard have maintained a dead-lock for a number of weeks past over the selection of a borough superintendent.— They have now resolved to compromise the matter by submitting the question to the coun ty superintendent, who has chosen Profs. COPELAND and GEYER to assist him in de termining which of the applicants is the bet ter fitted for the position. Mrs. Charlotte Ingham,widow of the bile (.'apt. .J. B. Ingham, who fell at, the battle of Aniietjim, i> visiting her old friends in Mon roe. She was our next door neighbor for years, and witlr her family was most highly valued. We were srreatlv gratified to wel come her unchanged countenance once again toour little family circle. The train will remain at the fulls 8 hours, which gives ample time to visit all places of interest and see all that is to he seen. The Falls will he splendidly illuminated by Electric Light before the time for returning. Tickets to all places of interest may be pro cured of the Managers on the train at greatly reduced rates. Baggage ear attached to the train for "the accommodation of lunch baskets, Ac. Parties visiting Prospect Park have full | view of Fulls during the day, and evening by the electric light, and includes use of pavilion, lunch room, hot and cold water, at an expense of only .'55 cents. Tickets admitting to above and to Goat Island, Luna Island, Three Sis ters, Biddlu Stairs, Inclined Railway—good for one trip down and up—Art Gallery, also for one passage over Suspension Bridge and return, for the low price of $1 25. This in cludess all that can possibly be seen. Tickets at this low price can only be had of the Managers on the train. Special arrangements have been made with first class hotels for reduced rates. VENNOR predicts a pleasant day. Mr. BABCOCK, the ticket agent of the P. & iJS". Y. B. it. has the tickets for sale and in uforms us that he would carry some with him, so that they can be obtained of him without going specially to the railroad sta tion. Say you pay $4 95 for a ticket to Niagara Falls, good Aug. 9, and 50 cents for your din ner at the Spencer House, then add $1 25 for a ticket to all places of interest.
