Mr. Forney's tem perament could not endure the iceberg that Mr. Duglas kept constantly in his way, and very wort abandoned the task. Forney has since 'defined his position' on the Presidential question ; it is simply, that Mr. Douglas, with Forney's assistance, can be elevated to no eminence higher than that which he now oocupies, if he shall stand steadi ly by his own declarations, even if that be the psesidency itself.'
